Family Getaway

The thought of going on a major family vacation somehow wasn't appealing this year with a 5 month old and a 2 year old, so we opted for a short little getaway instead. We went to Pine Cove's family camp down in Columbus.

First I will tell you what we did NOT do....We did NOT do any laundry, dishes, bills, cleaning, cooking, yard work or errands. Instead we....snuggled

laughed

watched a sunset

"helped" daddy gather firewood

roasted hot dogs and s'mores

through dirt and sticks in the fire with sweet buddy Aaden

got dirty

really dirty

wore boots every day...even with pajamas

paddle boated with daddy

and snuggled some more.

How great to be able to step back from the business of life and focus on what really matters. family.

Happy 2nd Birthday to our precious Brex!!! We are so proud of you and can't believe how quickly the time has gone!!! We praise God for your life every day. You are such a gift to us!

Christmas 2010

This was probably our last Christmas where Brex didn't really know what in the world was going on...he got one thing from us and was great with that!

this is how much of his car was assembled before he got up:) oops! "quick and easy assembly" was a little misleading! Good thing he didn't have a clue!

this is a terrible picture...but we celebrated with my family in Dallas this year and had dinner and saw lights at Highland Park Village one night!

Life with two....

So, getting used to having two kiddos was a little more challenging than we thought it would be....but the Lord has been so good to give us many sweet moments in the midst of the craziness! Here are a few pics of what our life has been like lately...
Brex LOVES all the new baby things we have out for Jet...the bouncer, nap nanny, paci's...the other day I found him "scaling" Jet's crib and caught him just before he landed on top of Jet during a nap:)look closely at Jet's face...the result of someone tackling him and wanting to wrestle....I wonder who that was? Brex really is the best big brother, he is just ready for a playmate!

Jet Elliot Boddy

On October 12, 2010 we welcomed our precious Jet Elliot into the world! We are overwhelmed with gratefulness that we have been given another healthy baby! We praise God that He is allowing us to be stewards of two boys! We pray we can raise them to be Godly men who make a difference in this world!

We decided on the name Jet just because we liked it and thought it sounded good with Brex (really deep, I know). His middle name, Elliot, came from the missionary Jim Elliot who died for the sake of the gospel. We pray every night that our boys would be so in love with the Lord someday that they will be willing to stand up for Him, no matter what.

this was our cute leadership team this summer at the timbers (minus amy who was probably in the office working!). what a blessing these girls were to camp and to our family! love you girls:))

we went to lake austin for a little post-camp get away! His first time on the boat...it was more than he could handle!

first tube ride...didn't know what to think. Didn't laugh, didn't cry....

some of the wives went to columbus for retreat season orientation this year after camp and it was so fun to watch all of the kids play together!

another milestone we hit....we recently moved brex into a "big boy" room to get ready for this baby coming in october! we kind of created a twin size crib so the transition was great! He hasn't tried climbing out......yet.

we got this sonogram picture a few weeks ago of our sweet little boy/girl that we will be welcoming into the world october 23rd (or sooner we hope!)

brex got to go spend a weekend with ricky and gram and had a blast! they are trying to get some quality time in with him before they get 2 more grandkids soon!!

they took him to ride a train and to the zoo....looks like he had fun :)

such sweet times....we are so blessed and grateful for all of these memories we are able to make with our family!

first haircut

so, do you see the mullet? well, it's there because Chris decided to try to cut Brex's hair...didn't work out so well this time. So, I immediately threw him in the car and headed to Sports Clips. They were so great with him...he loved it.
he could have cared less if i was standing there or not!

thank goodness for suckers! well, not the most exciting post ever BUT it was another milestone for us! And yes, I'm glad the mullet is gone :))

Summer 2010!

We have had a great summer so far....I will let the pictures speak for themselves!

one of my favorite pics ever....we were taking maddry east to the pool with us and turn around to find this....he made his move!!

Calm before the storm

We always try to get away before the craziness of summer happens here....without Brex. So, this year we went to the greatest place in Phoenix, AZ. Kind of random, I know, but it was awesome. We wanted a place we could lay in the sun and do nothing....and that is what we did. if you ever want a great getaway or a fun place to take kids check it out. www.squawpeakhilton.com

this night we ate the yummiest burgers at Houstons and went to see Date Night. It was so fun. I sure wish I was doing that again tonight.

we were home one week and looked at each other and said, "can you believe we have only been home for a week. it feels like months since we had a vacation. we definitely need another one soon":))) and life goes on!!

Easter and Spring

We got to go to San Antonio for Easter. This is Janie and Brex playing in their backyard! We had a blast and Brex had no clue what was going on when we were hunting eggs!

Can you tell what Brex's shirt says? It's true! He is going to be a big brother this Fall. We are expecting baby #2 in October! When we showed up at Chris' parents house, this is what he was wearing (it took a few minutes for them to catch on). My sister is also pregnant, so Brex and his cousin Vaughn had matching big bro/big sis shirts. Needless to say, my parents are beyond
excited!!

Here we are Easter Sunday....these are Brex's second cousins. This is a horrible pic but the best we could get with four kids under 16 months :)

Let the hunt begin....

Our two favorite things we found at the CCC Sale this year are cowboy boots and a sandbox!

Christmas/Cruise

So...it has been a while! I thought our blog had a virus, but thankfully my friend kasey showed me that I just had the wrong tab clicked :)). Here is an overview of Brex's first Christmas and the cruise we went on with the Boddy's. Enjoy!!

Playing in a sandbox for the first time....LOVED IT!! He's going to be all boy!

This was a going away party for our sweet friends Pat, Meg and Aaden Preston. They are really going to be missed...but at least they are still in the pine cove circle!

Brex and Aaden were sad to leave one another! So sad they decided to give some kisses....oops!

Our nieces and nephew all playing together! Lily, Taylor, Daisy and Chad. Brex and Haynes will join them soon enough!

Okay friends, this is a long post....and please don't laugh at the layout. I'm still a new blogger and learning...

A few weeks after camp, we headed down to Chris' farm in Boerne for a few days with our sweet friends, the Boatright's (pic above).

Trip to San Antonio

Last weekend we went to visit Chris' family in San Antonio. It was so fun but it was definitely the last time we will be flying with Brex for a while...

This was the second time Brex got to see his cousin Haynes who is 9 days older than him!! They definitely noticed one another but we are waiting for the day where he begs us to go stay with him!!

Here we are...all 6 grandkids in a row. One of these days we will get a picture where everyone is looking at the camera.

I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture, but they are actually both about to melt down. It was like a chain reaction- one started crying and the other didn't know what else to do but to cry along with him...

He LOVED this little splash pad Janie bought for him and Haynes. Check out that gut....

The newest addition of the Boddy family arrived on January 27th 2009- Brex Elijah Boddy! We are a little behind on posts, but hope that you will enjoy keeping up with our family.

On January 29th, Chris' 30th birthday we got to bring him home from the hospital for the first time!

Chris is the best dad ever and jumped right in changing diapers...Brex never made this job easy!!

We are so lucky that Brex's gram is a professional photographer...we will never be lacking in creative pics!!

This is one of his first smiles...he used to be hard to crack but now he is a total flirt and smiles at everyone!

He is just starting to figure out how to splash in the water...for a while he would just sit there, his tummy lapping over, so content to let us scrub him with warm water. Rough life.

We decided to give him some watermelon on the 4th....He LOVED it!! He wouldn't stop eating it, so when we finally took it away we got to witness his first fit...

We have a side sleeper now!

Today was a big day for us...brex got to eat his first vegetable! Of course, he loved it! He has never been one to turn down food (obviously).
